Julia completed her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences at McMaster University followed by a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology at McGill University. She began work as a Research Coordinator in the Midwifery Education Program in 2010. Julia has completed secondary analyses of the Early External Cephalic Version Trials and was a part of the 2015 study by Dr. Eileen Hutton et al that compared outcomes of planned home and hospital births attended by Ontario midwives. She is currently working on a systematic review of planned home birth and is coordinating the Baby & Mi study. The Baby & Mi study is led by Dr. Eileen Hutton and a team of researchers at McMaster University from several disciplines including pediatrics, obstetrics, reproductive biology, microbiology, biochemistry and biostatistics. The study aims to determine the relationship between various birth experiences, early life exposures, diet and the infant gut microbiome.
