The Program
Precepting can be very challenging, especially when the student is struggling. Midwifery students may have difficulty meeting course expectations because of problems with knowledge, attitudes or skills. Dealing with a student in difficulty can be challenging and draining for preceptors and the MPG. Early identification is important, and a structured intervention has been found to help 90% of struggling students succeed. This workshop will address the common reasons students struggle and how to set up a remediation plan with student, tutor and preceptor involvement.
Target Audience
McMaster MEP preceptors interested in strategies for navigating difficult learning situations.
